The second largest and busiest airport in the UK currently is Gatwick. The site only has a single runway but despite this is able to handle thirty five million passengers each year. While discussions are almost certain to include negotiations on price, it could be a beneficial move for the group. This may not be music to the ears of BAA however, it is likely they would have preferred to sell Stansted rather than Gatwick, but MAG chiefs are adamant that due to Gatwick’s likeness to Manchester in terms of operations, this is a more preferable purchase.

Naturally any buyout would be lucrative; the large number of income generated by Glasgow’s and Gatwick’s car hire services, shops and restaurants makes any deal extremely worthwhile. It is likely however that the finances needed would require MAG to partner with another company; those in the running are predominantly European groups such as Germany’s Hochtief, or Credit Suisse. With MAG being part owned by Manchester City Council, issues concerned with public funding of any buyout may also occur.

As with every airport in the UK, security has become a major issue at Manchester. As a result, executives have enacted high technology solutions to the problems of security. One of these solutions is the iris scanning of all staff members that enter the airside component of the terminals. It is hoped that this system will control the access of the thirty thousand staff to sensitive areas. The system is still in its induction period but executives are hopeful that it will limit if not totally diminish any instances of unauthorised access to aircraft and the airfield apron.

Today Manchester has evolved considerably from its humble beginnings. 2. Theme Cruise. What about a Disney Cruise or company cruise? Your itinerary may be a bit different on a theme-type cruise. Great for family vacations, romantic vacations, honeymoons, or celebrations, a theme cruise can provide that little extra you may not find on a traditional cruise.

3. Gambling or Riverboat Cruises. If you are an avid gambler or love to take a weekend and hit up Vegas or any casino area, then a gambling cruise will whisk you away to do exactly what you love- play cards, take in entertainment, and enjoy great food on the open ocean. Why not add that extra enjoyment of a cruise?

4. Day Cruises. No matter what vacation destination you venture to, most tourist towns offer exciting day/night cruises. Fun for everyone to enjoy take your pick from dinner cruises usually with live entertainment, sightseeing tours, singles cruises, family cruises, and overall fun. You will see the sights, enjoy an array of activities, mouthwatering food, entertainment, and most importantly good company and miraculous views.

5. Barefoot Cruises. Instead of sailing off a huge liner, why not do a barefoot cruise on a sailboat. This type of cruise will offer an experience you’ll never forget. Gather with other sea lovers to lounge, sunbathe, read, socialize, dance and party from sun-up to sundown.
